Axl Rose addresses arrest during concert
Guns N' Roses frontman W. Axl Rose addressed his arrest in Stockholm, Sweden earlier in the week during a concert in Oslo, Norway on Wednesday night (June 28th). A Norwegian newspaper reported that the vocalist said from the stage about the incident, "They loved me so much they wanted me to stay," and then introduced the song "Patience" by saying, "And now something you need when rent-a-cops go bad."Axl was arrested in the lobby of his Stockholm hotel early Tuesday morning (June 27th) after allegedly biting a security guard on the leg and causing damage to the hotel. Police said he was too intoxicated to be questioned for several hours. Rose was held in jail for most of the day before being released that evening after paying fines totaling 50,000 Swedish kronor, or approximately $6,800.
Axl issued a statement that evening in which he said, "We had a great gig in Stockholm and I am not going to let this incident spoil that. My assistant Beta and I were talking in the lobby of the hotel when security started to give us a hard time. My only concern was to make sure she was OK."
The hotel alleged that security asked the Guns N' Roses frontman to go to his room after his exchange with the woman grew heated and argumentative.
As with the band's Stockholm show, models attended the Oslo concert as well as an aftershow party with the group.
