Def Leppard guitarist becomes PETA spokesperson

Def Leppard guitarist Phil Collen is busy on the band's summer tour with Journey, but he's taken the time to go public as a spokesperson for People For The Ethical Treatment Of Animals (PETA). Collen has recorded a public service announcement for the organization, and has given a lengthy interview, both of which can be seen at the goveg.com website. Collen said, "I decided to work with PETA because I am really passionate about what I believe in. I kind of back it up wholeheartedly and I just agree with what they are about. I think it's really cool and, yeah, I want to be a part of it." Collen has also autographed a Fender Stratocaster-style guitar that's available through a contest at goveg.com.

The Def Leppard/Journey tour hits the Target Center in Minneapolis on Tuesday, July 18th.
