Lemonheads to release new album
The Lemonheads will release a new self-titled album on September 26th, the group's first all-new effort in almost 10 years. Guitarist and singer Evan Dando remains the sole original member of the group, which is planning a U.S. tour for the autumn. The band will play two U.K. shows later this week on July 14th and 16th. The last Lemonheads album, Car Button Cloth, came out in 1996.
The Lemonheads emerged from Boston in the late '80s and recorded three independent albums before signing to Atlantic Records.
The group's most successful effort, 1992's It's A Shame About Ray, featured a hit cover of Simon and Garfunkel's "Mrs. Robinson," which was added to the disc several months after its initial release.
