Metallica guitarist selling home for $12m
Metallica guitarist Kirk Hammett is selling his house in Pacific Heights, California for $12.5 million, according to SF.Curbed.com. The Georgian-style, 9,519-square-foot mansion has nine bedrooms, seven full baths, three half baths, a library, a billiard/family room, and what Hammett's realtors describe as a "deep grassy garden and detached two-car side-by-side garage." The listing says the house has been "faithfully maintained and upgraded for more than a century" and "is among a select handful of timeless classics."Meanwhile, Metallica has apparently made Blender magazine's list of "The 25 Biggest Wusses...Ever!" The list appears in the magazine's July issue and "salutes the most awesomely wimpy musicians of all time." According to Blender, Metallica made the list because its "haircuts were lame and the anti-Napster crusade lamer." The magazine also chided the band for using a therapist and for "bickering and weeping" in the 2004 movie/documentary Some Kind Of Monster.
Nick Lachey, the Cure's Robert Smith and Coldplay's Chris Martin also made the list, with James Taylor taking the dubious honor of Number One.
Metallica is currently writing its ninth studio album, with plans to record in the fall for a 2007 release.
