Neil Young making "war" videos
Neil Young is making videos for the songs on his new album Living With War, and he wants everyone to have them. To that end, the Canadian is putting the videos up on his official website and allowing people to download free copies. The video for the album's first song, "After The Garden," uses footage from the Al Gore documentary An Inconvenient Truth to illustrate the problems of climate change and global warming. Young said, "Al Gore's courageous film will be a lasting document, a proof as years go by that Mr. Gore was right from the start, and willing to go on record. From his direct opposition to the war in Iraq to recognizing and confronting global warming, Mr. Gore has shown himself to be a visionary, standing out among his contemporaries."There are two other clips -- one for the album's last song, the a cappella chorus version of "America The Beautiful," which shows an American flag blowing in the breeze over a military cemetery, and a short "documentary" from the album's recording sessions earlier this year that shows Young teaching his band the song "Let's Impeach The President."
To watch and download the videos, go to neilyoung.com, click on "Living With War," then click the "LWW" logo in the upper-left corner of the page. Young will add more videos in the weeks to come.
Living With War is being spotlighted on this summer's Crosby, Stills, Nash & Young tour, which hit the Amphitheater At Clark County in Ridgefield, Washington, on Friday, July 28th.
