New REM collection out in September
R.E.M. will release a CD and DVD collection on September 12th featuring material from its early days, prior to signing with a major label. According to Billboard.com, the compilation, called And I Feel Fine, will be available as both a single-disc CD package and a double-disc set that include rarities, live tracks and previously unreleased songs. The DVD, When The Light Is Mine, will feature a mix of music videos and live TV performances.Among the tracks on And I Feel Fine are "So. Central Rain (I'm Sorry)," "Radio Free Europe," "Sitting Still" and "It's the End of the World As We Know It (And I Feel Fine)." The two-disc edition will include studio outtakes and other rarities, while the DVD is highlighted by performances from the U.K. TV show The Tube, a 20-minute film titled Left Of Reckoning, rare interview footage and acoustic performances.
REM members Michael Stipe, Peter Buck, Mike Mills and former drummer Bill Berry were heavily involved in crafting the sets, including selecting their favorite studio tracks for the two-disc edition of And I Feel Fine.
REM will be inducted into the Georgia Music Hall of Fame on September 16th in Atlanta.
