Red Hot Chili Peppers headlining first US Virgin Fest
The Red Hot Chili Peppers and the Who will headline the first U.S. version of England's long-running Virgin or "V" Festival, scheduled for September 23rd at the Pimlico Race Course in Baltimore, Maryland. According to Billboard, other acts slated to appear include the Killers, the Raconteurs, Gnarls Barkley, Keane, the Flaming Lips, Wolfmother, Kasabian and at least a dozen others. A Canadian version of the festival is on tap for September 9th and 10th in Toronto.
Unlike other festivals, the Virgin Fest will not have additional stages upon which other groups will perform.
Tickets for the event go on sale on Saturday (July 22nd) and are priced at $97.50. The venue capacity is approximately 60,000.
The original UK V Festival will take place on August 19th and 20th, with Radiohead and Morrissey headlining.
