Velvet Revolver, Aerosmith on benefit album

Velvet Revolver and Aerosmith are two of the acts contributing songs to Serve, an all-star charity album to benefit a non-profit organization called World Hunger Year (WHY). According to Blabbermouth.net, other artists appearing on the disc include the Strokes, Modest Mouse, Coheed and Cambria, Good Charlotte, Lenny Kravitz, Bruce Springsteen and Dido. The tracks are a mix of live, studio, acoustic and electric performances, with many of them rare or previously unreleased.

Net proceeds from sales of the album will be directly donated to a WHY program called Artists Against Hunger & Poverty.

WHY was founded by late songwriter Harry Chapin to fight hunger and poverty in America.

Serve is co-sponsored by Hard Rock International and will be sold at Hard Rock Cafes around the country, as well as at hardrock.com and worldhungeryear.org.
