3 Doors Down continue hurricane relief efforts
The members of 3 Doors Down continue to do their part to help rebuild areas affected by Hurricane Katrina. According to the Sun Herald, the Mississippi-based rockers just donated $75,000 to Gautier Volunteer Village, a disaster-relief center in the Gulf Coast. Guitarist Chris Henderson said that he hopes that the contribution will remind people that it's still important to help out victims from last year's hurricane. He said, "I appreciate what everybody's doing. We went through a struggle last year, and people are forgetting all over the world. I'm very glad to be able to help."
The funds came from the band's benefit concert last December in Mobile, Alabama, which raised more than $300,000. Looking ahead, Henderson hopes to collect twice that amount at this year's gala. He said, "It's just growing and growing, and a lot of (bands) are volunteering their time."
3 Doors Down will perform in Mount Pleasant, Michigan tomorrow (Friday, August 11th).
