Aerosmith bassist to miss start of tour due to cancer treatment
Aerosmith bassist Tom Hamilton will miss the first part of the band's Route Of All Evil tour with Motley Crue while he recovers from cancer treatments. Hamilton was diagnosed with throat cancer and recently completed a seven-week course of radiation treatment. He's at home with his family now, but it takes time to get over radiation therapy, so Aerosmith has brought in David Hull to man the bottom end. Hamilton is expected back in mid-October, but it's too early to nail down a specific date.
Hull is an old friend of the band, and specifically of lead guitarist Joe Perry, since he was a member of the Joe Perry Project.
The Motley Crue/Aerosmith tour gets underway September 5th in Columbus, Ohio.
