Aerosmith frontman to tour with orchestra?

If Aerosmith frontman Steven Tyler gets his way, the band's future touring could look and sound a lot different than currently configured. Tyler told rollingstone.com, "My goal is to take songs like 'Home Tonight,' 'Dream On,' and a (ton) of the good ones and go out with a 50-piece orchestra." Tyler said the idea came to him after he and lead guitarist Joe Perry performed with the Boston Pops on July 4th.

The singer also revealed that he wants to do a special residency in his old home town. He said, "I want to do a string of shows at Madison Square Garden (in New York City) where the first night we do Toys In The Attic and Rocks, in order, the second night Pump and Aerosmith, etc."

There's been no reaction from Tyler's bandmates, and it's unknown whether these plans will get put into action this fall, when Aerosmith and Motley Crue stage their Route Of All Evil tour. The bands head out starting September 5th in Columbus, Ohio.

Aerosmith is working on a new studio album that should be out by the middle of next year.
