Aerosmith planning Greatest Hits CD

Aerosmith won't finish their new album this year, but they won't let the holiday buying season get away. Frontman Steven Tyler told Roger Friedman from foxnews.com that the group is putting together a "best of" collection that might also feature one new song, and the album should be out in time for the year-end shopping season. Tyler added that once the calendar shifts into 2007, Aerosmith will really focus on getting their new studio album done.

The classic rock band already released quite a few anthologies, and Tyler told us that means the band never stopped working: "We have that one thing about us, that we never quit, we never gave up, we always went on tour, and we always did an album. If you were to ask me, 'What's the greatest thing Aerosmith ever did?' -- we stuck around."

Aerosmith and Motley Crue will kick off their Route Of All Evil tour on September 5th in Columbus, Ohio.
