Audioslave's Chris Cornell getting busy on solo album
With Audioslave not planning to tour until 2007 to support its new album Revelations, frontman Chris Cornell plans to spend the fall working on his second solo album. Cornell told us that he's already started working on the project and is well on his way towards completion: "I've been writing songs for films recently, and as I've been doing that, you know, I've had some other ones sitting around and then writing a lot of new songs just because the ideas are coming. And once I realized I was enjoying doing that again, then I definitely started taking it more seriously and have put together material for a whole record."
The singer expects to release the album, his first solo set since 1999's Euphoria Morning in 2007.
Cornell has also recorded the song "You Know My Name," for the new James Bond movie, Casino Royale, and another song for the independent film Bug.
Revelations, Audioslave's third album, is due out September 5th. The first single, "Original Fire," is Number Three on Billboard's Hot Modern Rock Tracks chart and Number Six on the Hot Mainstream Rock Tracks chart.
