Avenged Sevenfold want fans to vote for VMAS
Avenged Sevenfold has been nominated for a Video Music Award for Best New Artist at the 2006 MTV Video Music Awards, and both the band's website, avengedsevenfold.com, and their MySpace.com page are encouraging fans to log on to MTV.com and vote for them. The competition also includes Angels & Airwaves, British singer-songwriter James Blunt, R&B singer Chris Brown, Panic! At The Disco, and R&B singer Rihanna.
A message on the band's MySpace.com web page reads:
"There is no limit on voting so we want to see you mother****ers voting like there's no tomorrow. We know you won't back down from a challenge so we've got a mission for you: During these final days we want to see every single one of you crazy mother****ers voting until your mouse breaks. And if we win the award on August 31st we'll post TWO EXCLUSIVE, NEVER BEFORE SEEN VIDEOS FROM OUR SOLD OUT NEW YORK CITY CONCERT."
The 2006 MTV Video Music Awards will be held August 31st at Radio City Music Hall in New York City.
Starting in September, Avenged Sevenfold will embark on a three-week tour of the U.S. and Canada, finishing up in Devore, California on September 23rd for a radio festival featuring Guns N' Roses, Alice In Chains, Papa Roach, and Muse. Protest the Hero is the opening act for most of the tour.
The band is currently on a short tour of Australia and New Zealand. After this leg of the tour they expect to do one more leg of U.S. shows, before hitting the studio in 2007 for a new album.
