Blue October dives "Into The Ocean"
Blue October's new single, "Into The Ocean," is about someone who decides to end his or her life by jumping over the side of a ship. Frontman Justin Fastened told us why the song makes him happy despite its grim subject matter: "Sometimes, I mean, I'll admit, I come from a very dark head, and I'd rather write a song about someone doing that than actually thinking about it myself. It's my outlet to be able to do it through art. And it's such a fun, poppy song that's so hypocritical to itself, that I just love it."
"Into The Ocean" is the second single from Blue October's gold-selling fifth album Foiled, following the hit "Hate Me."
The Texas-based group is competing with 30 Seconds To Mars, Angels And Airwaves and others in a "battle of the bands" sponsored by Cingular Wireless, with the winner playing atop the marquee at New York City's Radio City Music Hall during September 7th's Fashion Rocks concert.
Blue October heads out this month on its first-ever European tour.
