Bon Jovi nominated for country music award

When the country music industry handed out the nominations for their CMA Awards on Wednesday, August 30th, one name probably stuck out like a stretch limo at a tractor pull. Bon Jovi's name was called, and they're up for Musical Event Of The Year with singer Jennifer Nettles from the country group Sugarland. Nettles joined forces with Bon Jovi on the song "Who Says You Can't Go Home," which turned into a Number One hit on the country chart -- and while it was Bon Jovi's fifth chart-topper over all, it made them the first rock band to hit Number One on the country chart. The CMAs will be handed out November 6th at the Gaylord Entertainment Center in Nashville.

Bon Jovi and Nettles performed the song live at the 2005 CMA Awards, which were held at Madison Square Garden in New York City.

The only date on Bon Jovi's schedule is next Thursday (September 7th), when the band will perform at the Fashion Rocks concert at Radio City Music Hall in New York City. The bill also includes Elton John, Beyonce Knowles, Christina Aguilera, Faith Hill, and Jamie Foxx, among others.
