Depeche Mode to release CD/DVD from recent tour

Depeche Mode will release a CD and DVD concert set from its latest world tour. Touring The Angel: Live From Milan comes out September 26th as a double DVD and CD and will also be available as a single DVD package. Touring The Angel was recorded on February 18th and 19th at Milan's Fila Forum during Depeche Mode's tour to promote 2005's Playing the Angel; the DVD was directed by Blue Leach, best known for his previous work with R.E.M.

The CD will feature eight songs from the concerts, while the DVD includes the full show as well as two additional songs, "A Question Of Lust" and "Damaged People." The second DVD will house a 20-minute documentary, five more live performances, the electronic press kit that accompanied Playing The Angel, and the official tour announcement made during the summer of 2005 in Germany.

In a statement, frontman Dave Gahan said that "Touring The Angel was probably the most enjoyable, rewarding live show we've ever done. The new material was just waiting to be played live. It took on a life of its own. With the energy of the crowds, it just came to life."

Touring The Angel was Depeche Mode's first tour in four years. It played to nearly 2.5 million people in 30 countries.

Playing The Angel has sold more than two million copies worldwide. It hit Number One on charts in 18 countries and peaked at Number Seven on the Billboard 200 chart in the U.S.
