Eric Clapton makes live guest appearance

Eric Clapton made a surprise showing with guitarist Jimmie Vaughan on Sunday (August 13th) in Columbus, Ohio. Vaughan is one of the opening acts on Bob Dylan's summer tour of minor league baseball stadiums, and during his set at Cooper Stadium, Vaughan told the crowd he had a surprise for them, then he brought the guitar legend out. Fan reports at whereseric.com say Clapton sang one song then stepped back and just played guitar behind Vaughan on two or three others. The guest star didn't return to the stage during Dylan's set.

His wife Melia is from Ohio, and speculation among the locals is that he was in the area to visit his in-laws.

Clapton's North American tour begins September 16th in St. Paul, Minnesota.
