Evanescence singer not hiding the story behind "Sober"

The story behind Evanescence's new single, "Call Me When You're Sober," became a little clearer when singer Amy Lee's former boyfriend, Seether frontman Shaun Morgan, checked himself into rehab last month. But Lee herself told us that she's not worried about listeners knowing exactly what inspired the song: "'Call Me When You're Sober' says something that's impossible to hide from. I'm stuck with everyone knowing exactly what I'm talking about. And if there's consequences for that, which there are, then I have to face them. But it's true, and it really happened, and it meant so much to me and felt so good to just blurt it out that it was worth it. And I think it's a really great song and I'm really proud of it."

Morgan entered a rehab facility in late July for unspecified substance abuse issues. He came out on Monday (August 28th), according to the group's publicist.

Evanescence's new album, The Open Door, arrives on October 3rd. The disc follows the band's 2003 major label debut, Fallen, which has sold more than six million copies in the US alone.

The group recently recruited Rendition Smile bassist Tim McCord to replace Will Boyd, who left earlier this summer because he no longer wished to tour for lengthy amounts of time.

Evanescence will hit the road for a 17-date tour beginning on October 5th in Toronto, with a larger-scale trek expected to follow in the months ahead.
