Gin Blossoms back with a new album

The Gin Blossoms are back with a new album. After a decade-long break, the Arizona natives decided to reunite and record the recently-released Major Lodge Victory. Frontman Robin Wilson told us that a well-timed phone call from bassist Bill Leen got the ball rolling: "My band had just busted up in an even more, like, messier break-up than the Gin Blossoms break-up. Then Bill called me and said, 'Let's just write some songs.' And that started going well, and everything we were writing sounded like Gin Blossoms tunes. And then we got some offers to do some shows. That was the real impetus to get it back together again -- was that somebody wanted to pay us to be in the Gin Blossoms. So let's see what happens. We managed to survive that summer and put together some new material and decided to keep going."

Major Lodge Victory features the single "Learning The Hard Way."

Gin Blossoms will kick off a tour on September 2nd in Chesterfield, Missouri.

The Gin Blossoms' 1992 breakthrough album, New Miserable Experience, featured the hit "Hey Jealousy." Other singles included "Found About You," "Until I Fall Away" and "Allison Road." The group also had a hit with "'Til I Hear It From You," which appeared in the film Empire Records.

After the Gin Blossoms split in 1997, Robin started his own band, Gas Giants, while the other members pursued their own projects.
