Godsmack side project issues first single

Another Animal, the band featuring all the members of Godsmack except for vocalist Sully Erna, has made its first single, called "Find A Way," available for downloading at its MySpace page, MySpace.com/anotheranimalxxx. According to Blabbermouth.net, the group's debut album will come out later this year. In addition to Godsmack drummer Shannon Larkin, guitarist Tony Rombola and bassist Robbie Merrill, the line-up also features original Godsmack axeman Lee Richards and former Ugly Kid Joe singer Whitfield Crane.

Another Animal came about after Larkin, Rombola and Merrill wrote nearly 40 songs on their own while Erna was suffering from writer's block during the early recording sessions for the latest Godsmack album, IV. A number of the leftover tunes formed the basis of Another Animal.

Larkin described the band's music as a cross between Black Sabbath and Faith No More in a recent interview.

Godsmack embarked last week on its first North American tour in support of IV. The band is co-headlining with Rob Zombie and hits Atlanta, Georgia on Wednesday, August 30th. Shinedown is the opening act.
