The James Gang tour might lead to new CD
With the James Gang back on tour, could there be new material in the future? There are no plans as of now for the group to record anything, but singer-guitarist Joe Walsh won't rule out the idea of new songs. Walsh told us that just based on their past history, the way the James Gang plays together live could result in some fresh songwriting: "We'll probably come up with some new material at some point. That kind of band, you know, it's kinda different every night. You visit different grooves and stuff, and they kind of define themselves over three or four shows. And in the old days, those turned into new James Gang songs."
Walsh added that "Funk 49" developed from a couple of on-stage jams.
The James Gang tour rolled into the DTE Energy Music Theatre in Clarkston, Michigan, on Tuesday, August 15th.
