Joe Walsh says the time is right for the james Gang to return
The James Gang kicks off their reunion tour tonight (Thursday, August 10th) in Sturgis, South Dakota, and Joe Walsh is excited. He's glad to work with old friends Jim Fox and Dale Peters again, and he's also stoked to play a kind of music that he doesn't hear too much anymore. Walsh told us that it's the right time for a free-wheeling band like the James Gang to hit the road: "I don't see a whole lot of improvising rock-and-roll bands out there now. They're mostly some guys with a lead singer, and they're performing nice songs that they wrote. I think maybe there's a little window here for a, you know, a spontaneous group. I'm excited to see where it goes."
The month-long James Gang tour wraps up September 9th in Alpine, California.
Walsh and his Eagles bandmates expect to have a new studio album out by the middle of next year.
