The Killers take Sam's Town on the road
The Killers have unveiled the dates and venues for their first North American tour in support of the band's upcoming second album, Sam's Town. The trek will hit theatres and begin on October 6th in Los Angeles, wrapping up at the end of the month with a previously announced appearance at the Vegoose Festival in the band's hometown of Las Vegas. The quartet will head overseas in November and return to these shores for more shows in December.
The Killers plan to bring additional musician Ted Sablay on the road with them to play some keyboards and guitar. Frontman Brandon Flowers told us why the group is expanding its live lineup: "That is a direct descendant of the new album, because we need a little bit of help. Some of the parts, the keyboard parts and things, I could do, but I would be glued to my keyboard the entire show, and I want to be out there giving everything that I've got to the song. So we're bringing along Ted."
Sam's Town arrives in stores on October 3rd and follows the group's triple platinum 2004 debut, Hot Fuss.
The first single from the new CD is called "When You Were Young."
