My Chemical Romance cancellation still a mystery
The My Chemical Romance camp is being quiet about why the group canceled its performance Saturday (August 5th) at the San Diego Street Scene festival. A note on the mychemicalromance.com web site blamed the cancellation on "unforeseen circumstances" and apologized for the late notice. But the Australian web site Undercover reported that two members of the band had been seriously injured in an unspecified accident, though it said only that drummer Bob Bryar was believed to have suffered third degree burns, and the show was called off due on doctor's orders. Neither management nor the band's publicist would comment on the situation Monday (August 7th).
My Chemical Romance has several other shows scheduled during the next month, including two in Japan, three in England and two festival dates over Labor Day weekend in the U.S. Those performances are still listed on the group's itinerary.
My Chemical Romance is finishing a new album that's due to be released October 24th. As yet untitled, it will be the follow-up to 2004's platinum Three Cheers For Sweet Revenge.
