New Peter Frampton single on iTunes

Peter Frampton has gone the digital route with his new single, which is a cover of the Soundgarden hit "Black Hole Sun." Frampton has released the track as an exclusive download through iTunes beginning today (Tuesday, August 15th). The "Black Hole Sun" cover is on Frampton's new instrumental project, called Fingerprints, and the full album comes out September 12th.

Fingerprints includes guest appearances by Warren Haynes from the Allman Brothers Band and Gov't Mule, Rolling Stones drummer Charlie Watts, ex-Stones bassist Bill Wyman, and Mike McCready and Matt Cameron from Pearl Jam, among others.

Frampton's next show is Thursday (August 17th) in Tulalip, Washington.
