Pink Floyd to salute Barrett with reunion?
A published report in the U.K. says Pink Floyd will reunite to honor founding member Syd Barrett, who died last month. The London Telegraph quoted a source close to the group as saying, "They didn't want to let Syd go without a huge send-off, and, as his funeral was a very low-key affair, they are arranging to reconvene later this year. They've already asked bands that have been influenced by Barrett, including Wolfhead and a reunited Libertines, to appear." Barrett died July 7th at the age of 60.There's been no official word from the Pink Floyd camp as to whether there's any truth to this story. Over the past year, drummer Nick Mason, keyboardist Richard Wright, and former singer-bassist Roger Waters have all expressed a desire to work together again, but singer-guitarist David Gilmour has continually said he's not interested.
