Shinedown keeps cool in record-breaking heat
Shinedown's recently completed Equinox tour with Trapt found the band playing at lots of outdoor venues across the country -- all during the record-breaking heat wave that's been blanketing the U.S. this summer. Shinedown frontman Brent Smith told us how the band, the fans and the concert organizers dealt with the heat: "One of the things about festivals, if they put 'em on right, they're gonna know that it's really, really hot. We did one in Lansing, Michigan, and the heat index...man, it was, like, 117. But everybody seemed to be able to deal with it pretty good. Some of the festivals, the fire department would come in with some trucks, and there'd be a hose, so, you know, you got to, like, douse the audience to cool 'em off. So it depended on what city we were in."
"Heroes" is the new single from Shinedown's second album, Us And Them.
The Jacksonville, Florida-based band will brave the heat with shows at two upcoming state fairs, on August 19th in Escanaba, Michigan and August 23rd in Boise, Idaho.
Shinedown has been confirmed as the opening act on Godsmack and Rob Zombie's co-headlining U.S. tour, which begins on August 25th in Dallas, Texas and wraps up on October 1st in Concord, California.
