Slipknot lyrics found at site of grave robbery in Kansas
A sheet of Slipknot lyrics was left at the scene of a recent grave robbery in Kansas. The Bonner Springs Chieftain reports that the grave of 17-year-old Justin Manning, who died in a car crash on July 25th, was dug up and a container of his ashes was removed. The theft was discovered Tuesday morning (August 15th), along with a note with the lyrics to Slipknot's song "Surfacing," from their 1999 self-titled album.
Manning's mother Angela Bickham said there had been trouble at his funeral, when some of his friends wanted to bury some CDs and a hat with his ashes.
The cemetery sexton who discovered the dug-up grave said there had also been "two or three" other notes lying around the gravesite, but they had blown away in the wind by the time police arrived.
Several days earlier, ropes tied as nooses had also been found at the gravesite.
