Springsteen to expand "We Shall Overcome"

Bruce Springsteen will reissue his recent album We Shall Overcome: The Seeger Sessions in expanded form on October 3rd. The new version, which will be titled We Shall Overcome: The Seeger Sessions - American Land Edition, is a CD/DVD package with new songs, videos, a documentary, and never-before-seen photos. The new tracks will be available individually through iTunes, so people who already own We Shall Overcome won't have to buy rest of the material a second time.

The new tracks are "How Can A Poor Man Stand Such Times And Live," "Bring 'Em Home," and "American Land," along with the songs "Buffalo Gals" and "How Can I Keep From Singing" that were previously released on the DVD side of the We Shall Overcome DualDisc.

New videos for "American Land" and "Pay Me My Money Down" are now part of the package, along with live footage of "How Can A Poor Man Stand Such Times And Live" and "Bring 'Em Home."

There's also an extended version of the "making-of" documentary from the original release that now includes Springsteen recording songs including "Jacob's Ladder," "Froggie Went A Courtin'," and "Erie Canal" with the Seeger Sessions Band.

Springsteen and the Seeger Sessions Band have European dates booked for October and November. There's been no word yet about more North American shows.
