Van Morrison to open for the Rolling Stones

Van Morrison is the latest person to sign up for opening duties on the fall Rolling Stones tour. Morrison will warm up the crowds on November 3rd at B.C. Place Stadium in Vancouver, British Columbia, and again on November 5th at McAfee Coliseum in Oakland, California. Others who've pulled support duty for the upcoming North American dates include Alice Cooper, the Dave Matthews Band, and hip-hop star Kanye West.

Morrison's got a handful of U.K. dates beginning Friday (August 18th).

The Stones are in the midst of the European leg of their A Bigger Bang. They were due to perform on Monday, August 14th, in Valladolid, Spain but had to cancel the gig because Mick Jagger lost his voice due to laryngitis.

The Stones will reportedly play the Beacon Theatre in New York City in late October for former President Bill Clinton's 60th birthday celebrations.
