The Who set release date for new CD
The Who have set a title and release date for their new album. It will be called Endless Wire, and the project should come out October 31st. The album will include a mini-opera called Wire & Glass, which is now available. Endless Wire is the first full collection of new material from the Who since 1982, when their album It's Hard came out.Wire & Glass had a working title of Who2, and singer-guitarist Pete Townshend said he was responsible for that one: "I was the one that came up with the working title of Who2, which was a bit of a sarcastic dig at my friends in the famous Irish rock-and-roll band that have a similar name, but it's also because there are just two of us. You know, the, the idea that the name is whimsy, it comes simply because with a band called the Who, it's almost impossible to resist the temptation of coming up with a gag -- you know, 'who the f--k are you' kind of thing."
The Who's North American tour gets underway September 12th in Philadelphia.
