Aerosmith people backed idea of tour with Motley Crue

It's easy to imagine that the guys in Aerosmith and Motley Crue were excited about going out together starting next week, but there were some outside voices that helped make the package a reality. Lead guitarist Joe Perry told us that even though Aerosmith knew it was a good idea, they got confirmation based on what they heard from people around the band: "When we started talking to our surrounding friends, family, neighbors, and fans, the response coming back from it was overwhelming, so I think it's gonna be a really good bill."

The groups kick off their Route Of All Evil tour at the Germain Amphitheatre in Columbus, Ohio, on Tuesday (September 5th).

In non-tour news, Aerosmith frontman Steven Tyler will make a guest appearance on the CBS sitcom Two And A Half Men on September 25th. In the episode, which is titled "Who's Vod Kanockers," he plays the loud, trouble-making rock star neighbor of Charlie Sheen's character Charlie, and the two don't get along. Tyler previously did a voice-over for the show back in 2003.

Aerosmith will release a new best-of collection on October 10th called Devil's Got A New Disguise, which will feature two new songs. The group is also planning to release a new studio album in late spring or early summer of next year.
