Beatles album covers to feature on British stamps

Britain's Royal Mail has announced that five of the Beatles' classic album covers will be issued on a set of British stamps in January. The London Times reported that the group's With The Beatles, Revolver, Sgt Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band, Abbey Road, and Let It Be albums will be featured on the commemorative stamps.

A Royal Mail spokesman said that, "The Beatles special stamps promise to be a big hit with fans the world over when they go on sale... Royal Mail is featuring some 'first class' Beatles album covers to commemorate the UK band that stands for all that's great in popular culture."

Last year the official rule that the Royal Family were the only "identifiable" living people to be featured on stamps was lifted.

There's no word whether other Fab Four albums such as Please Please Me, A Hard Day's Night, Beatles For Sale, Help!, Rubber Soul, Magical Mystery Tour, The White Album, and Yellow Submarine, all of which should also count as "first class," will be featured on future postage stamps.
