Bob Dylan's chart success
We won't know until Wednesday, September 6th, how Bob Dylan's new album Modern Times fared on the Billboard album chart, but it's doing very well overseas. Modern Times, which is Dylan's first set of new material since Love And Theft came out in 2001, debuted at Number One in Australia in its first week of release, knocking country star and native daughter Kasey Chambers out of the top spot. Dylan was almost as well received in the U.K., where Modern Times entered that chart at Number Three. Based on first-day sales last week, the music industry website hitsdailydouble.com is speculating that Dylan could sell more than 150,000 copies in the U.S., putting Modern Times squarely in line for the Number One spot here in America.
Dylan's got a handful of shows left on his summer tour of minor league baseball parks. His latest gig was on Tuesday, September 5th, at Memorial Stadium in Fort Wayne, Indiana.
