Bob Seger talking to his kids through new album

If you want to know what goes on in Bob Seger's house, get a copy of his new album called Face The Promise, which comes out on September 12th. Seger has never been the most public guy, and he's pretty much kept his family out of the spotlight, but he pulled back the curtains on the new release. Seger told us that he wrote the songs on Face The Promise to address the things he and his children have been talking about over the last few years: "You start thinking about mature things, you know, and commercialism, and ecology, and politics, and rampant consumerism, and all this other stuff, and you're talking to your kids about it -- you know, 'Yeah, you want this, but do you really need this?' So a lot of the songs on there are, in a way, me talking to my kids."

Face The Promise is the first all-new album from Seger since 1995's It's A Mystery.

An announcement on Seger's tour plans could come any day now.
