David Crosby box set and new autobiography announced
David Crosby is revisiting his past this fall with a three-CD box set, a deluxe reissue of his 1971 debut solo album If I Could Only Remember My Name, and a new memoir. Billboard reported that the new box set, titled Voyage, will include tracks from throughout his career, from his early days with the Byrds, Crosby, Stills, Nash & Young, Crosby-Nash, his solo work, and his more recent work with side band CPR, which he co-founded with his son, keyboardist James Raymond. The collection is due out on November 21st.
Among the close friends contributing liner notes for the Voyage collection are partner Graham Nash who helped compile the set, Bonnie Raitt, Melissa Etheridge, and Byrds co-founders Roger McGuinn and Chris Hillman.
If I Could Only Remember My Name features guest contributions from Graham Nash, Neil Young, and Joni Mitchell, along with such West Coast heavyweights as the Jefferson Airplane's Paul Kantner, Grace Slick, Korma Kaukonen, and Jack Cassidy; Santana's Gregg Rolie and Michael Shrieve; the Grateful Dead's Jerry Garcia, Phil Lesh, Bill Kreutzmann and Micky Hart; and others. The reissue also comes out November 21st. In addition to the standard CD remix, the set features a bonus DVD including a newly remastered 5.1 Surround Sound mix with photos and previously unreleased videos.
Crosby's second autobiography, the follow-up to 1988's Long Time Gone, titled Since Then: How I Survived Everything and Lived To Tell About It, will be published on November 7th.
