Ex-Good Charlotte drummer rips into band
Ex-Good Charlotte drummer Chris Wilson has blasted his former bandmates in a new rant on his MySpace page. When Wilson split in May 2005, the band issued a statement stating that he had left for "personal health reasons" and that they "love him and wish him well." But now things aren't so friendly, with Wilson writing, "I've kept my mouth shut for long enough. It has been roughly a year and a half since my departure from GC, and all I can say is, 'What the fuck?' How many times can I possibly get stabbed in the back? I know I fucked up, and I'm sincerely sorry for what I put you through." He added, "Why don't you start telling the kids about how I never made one cent off of any merch, CDs (or) DVDs, royalties (of songs I played on), publishing (songs I played on) or TV performances (in which I signed contracts stating exactly how much I was supposed to receive). Where did it go?"
Wilson also claimed that the band never returns his calls and that he's been trying to get all of his gear back for a year and a half. Personally addressing guitarist Benji Madden, Wilson wrote, "Come on, Benji, I don't know how many times I've asked you, with you responding that you would get right on it...Tell your assistant or whoever does everything for you to please help me out. I'm tired of waiting."
Wilson concluded, "The reason why I lost my mind was because I joined a band with two of the most egotistical, self-centered, back-stabbing, corrupted individuals who are filled with broken promises."
Good Charlotte is in the midst of a tour to promote its upcoming album, Good Morning Revival!. The outing stops in Ventura, California tonight (Friday, September 29th) and wraps on October 22nd in Baltimore, Maryland.
