Fall Out Boy bassist posts album update

Fall Out Boy bassist Pete Wentz has posted a new message on the blog at the band's official website, writing that the group is "almost halfway" through the recording of its new album. Wentz also wrote that the group is taking its time in making the CD, explaining, "We aren't racing, we are trying to craft songs that we will love forever, not just until the next record comes out. Patrick (Stump, vocalist) is a madman. It is undeniable. For anyone who thought the vocals were insane on the last record, prepare to be blown away." The new record, which is due out early next year, will follow 2005's platinum-plus From Under The Cork Tree.

The band has enlisted R&B superstar Babyface to contribute some production to the new CD.

Fall Out Boy is one of several acts contributing to a new soundtrack for the 1993 animated film The Nightmare Before Christmas. A special 3-D edition of the Tim Burton-produced movie will be re-released in select theatres on October 20th, with the new double-CD soundtrack hitting stores on the 24th. Each of the artists, including Marilyn Manson and Panic! At The Disco, will cover a song featured in the film's score.

Fall Out Boy's only scheduled live appearance so far this fall will be on October 22nd at a festival in Sao Paulo, Brazil.

The group's clothing company, Clandestine Industries, is holding its first fashion show as part of Fashion Week in New York City tomorrow (Saturday, September 9th) at 9 P.M. at a venue called Capitale. The first 600 people 21 and over who give the password "lovehostage" get in for free.
