Franz Ferdinand guitarist side project comes out of the box
Franz Ferdinand guitarist Nick McCarthy's new side project, called Box Codax, released its debut album yesterday (Monday, September 4th) in the U.K., titled Only An Orchard Away. There's no word on a Stateside release for the disc. The duo also announced that it plans to release a new EP every six months, with a tour expected to occur before the end of 2006.
Franz Ferdinand itself has two Mexican gigs lined up on September 10th and 11th and two Brazilian shows scheduled for the 14th and 16th.
The Scottish quartet is set to include a song called "Jackie Jackson" on The Colours Are Brighter, a collection of children's songs due to be released in October in the U.K. All proceeds will go to Save The Children.
The band recently announced that it will take an extended break before getting to work on its third album.
