Godsmack singer sheds light on "Shine Down"

Godsmack will perform its latest single, "Shine Down," on Last Call With Carson Daly on Thursday, September 14th, according to ThePRP.com. Lead singer Sully Erna told us that the song is a special one for the band and represents a musical progression for the hard-rocking group: "That song is exactly where I'd like to see Godsmack continue to go in the future. A little bit more -- not too light, but a little bit more bluesy and have that edge and that cool, hip rock 'n' roll thing. And I just love the 'classic-ness' to it, if that's a word. You know, it has that classic rock 'n' roll vibe for me."

Godsmack is touring North America in support of its latest album, IV (Four). The band is co-headlining with Rob Zombie and plays on Thursday, September 7th, in Mansfield, Massachusetts.

Another Animal, featuring all the members of Godsmack except for Sully Erna, has made its first single, called "Find A Way," available for downloading at MySpace.com/anotheranimalxxx. The group, which includes former Ugly Kid Joe singer Whitfield Crane, will release its debut album later this year.
