Hurt feels for Alice In Chains

Hurt is the lucky group that landed the sole opening slot on Alice In Chains' current North American tour, which began this past Friday (September 22nd) in Las Vegas, Nevada. Alice In Chains began touring again last spring after more than a decade away, with singer William DuVall standing in for late vocalist Layne Staley. Hurt frontman J. Loren told us that he thinks enough time has passed for Alice In Chains to reactivate its career: "I don't really think it's fair to hold up the band and say, 'Well, you guys, you know, can't continue doing what you're doing.' These unfortunate situations have happened to several bands and it just happens to have happened to a band that a lot of people cared deeply about. So I can understand where they're like, 'Well, it's not the same band,' or trash-talking, but I'm watching the show, so I'm saying why don't you give it a chance."

Hurt continues to support its debut album, Volume 1, which came out in March and features the singles "Rapture" and "Falls Apart."

The Alice In Chains tour has dates scheduled through November 26th in San Francisco, California. The bands play on Tuesday, September 26th, in Tucson, Arizona.
