Jet postpones weekend shows
Jet has been grounded this weekend due to illness. Frontman Nic Cester has acute laryngitis, so the group had to postpone their shows in Philadelphia on Friday, September 29th, and in Toronto on Sunday (October 1st). The dates will be rescheduled for November.
The band released this statement:
"In Australia, we say 'I am absolutely gutted' when the gravity of the situation is overwhelming. After all the work we've done on Shine On and on making this tour something special, all of us are very disappointed with the news of Nic's laryngitis. Canceling shows is not something we take lightly at all. We had to make the tough decision (yesterday) to cancel shows in both Philadelphia and Toronto -- two cities we have played and loved playing in on numerous occasions. We promise to make these shows up as soon as Nic is recovered and we're back on the East Coast. Once again, our sincerest apologies to all of our fans. When we return, it will of course be with a vengeance."
Cester has been put on four to five days' rest by his doctors, and he should be ready to go on Tuesday (October 3rd) when Jet plays The Tonight Show With Jay Leno.
Jet's new album, which is called Shine On, comes out Tuesday.
