Killers frontman criticizes Radiohead singer

Killers singer and keyboardist Brandon Flowers told the UK's Observer magazine this past weekend that he thinks Radiohead vocalist Thom Yorke should put aside the electronic style of songwriting he's experimented with on recent projects and return to writing straight pop songs. Flowers said, "(Yorke) should feel grateful that's he's (been) given the gift to write pop songs -- which he needs to write again!" Hopefully Flowers, who recently apologized for feuding in the past with bands like Fall Out Boy and Panic! At The Disco, isn't planning to start a new civil war with one of the most popular alternative rock singers on both sides of the Atlantic.

Yorke issued his first solo album, called The Eraser, in July. Radiohead is currently at work on its seventh studio effort.

The Killers' sophomore CD, Sam's Town, arrives in stores next Tuesday (October 3rd).

The Las Vegas-based quartet played a surprise show in New York City this past Friday (September 22nd) and kick off their North American tour on October 6th in Los Angeles.

The band recently recruited Batman and Charlie and the Chocolate Factory director Tim Burton to shoot a video for the Sam's Town track "Bones."
