Korn guitarist signs first 2 acts to label
Korn guitarist James "Munky" Shaffer has signed two acts to his new record label, EmotionalSyphon Recordings, according to Korn-Locker.com. The bands are called Droid and Monster In The Machine, with the latter group featuring former members of Cellophane and Puddle Of Mudd. There's no word yet on when either group will record or release an album. More information on Monster In The Machine can be found at the band's MySpace page.
Korn finished up the Family Values tour last night (Wednesday, September 20th) in West Palm Beach, Florida, and plans to head into the studio later this month to begin working on its eighth studio album.
Meanwhile, former guitarist Brian "Head" Welch confirmed that a hacker posted a false message at his website last week, claiming to be Welch and saying that he was rejoining Korn. Welch wrote in a new post, "No, I am not going back to Korn. Someone hacked into my site. I will be announcing what my real plans are soon. One thing I can tell you is, I'm on fire for the Lord more than ever, and that fire will never go out."
Welch left Korn in February of 2005 to devote his life and music to Christianity.
