Korn leading "Saw III" soundtrack
Korn, Eighteen Visions and Blue October are among the artists contributing songs to the soundtrack of the movie Saw III, the latest installment in the horror franchise. Eighteen Visions will offer the song "Victim" and Blue October appears with a tune entitled "Drilled A Wire Through My Cheek," while the Korn contribution has yet to be determined. Other artists slated for inclusion are Slayer, Lamb Of God, Mastodon, Helmet, Every Time I Die and several others. The Saw III soundtrack arrives in stores on October 24th, while the movie opens on the 27th.
Korn's Jonathan Davis is actually a big fan of original film scores and gave us a rundown of some of his favorites: "I'm really into Vangelis, what he did with Blade Runner, I'm into...I just like trippy scores, like what Wendy Carlos did for A Clockwork Orange and just cool stuff. I really am a big fan of the movie Dune, I love -- Toto did that score. That was a cool store. And then there's the, you know, normal ones, the orchestral scores that are all good. Yeah, those are a few of my favorites."
Helmet and several other bands will play a Saw-related show on October 19th in New York City to promote the film and album, complete with gruesome props from the movie trilogy on display and cast members in attendance.
