Korn to enter studio later this month
Korn bassist Reginald "Fieldy" Arvizu told a Cincinnati radio station on Tuesday night (September 12th) that the band plans to begin recording its new album on September 24th, just days after the group completes the current Family Values tour. Meanwhile, singer Jonathan Davis told us that the group was well into the writing process for its next effort: "We got about six songs that are written. Me and Munky (James "Munky" Shaffer, guitar) wrote a whole bunch of stuff and we're getting back together with (producing team) The Matrix when we get back and arrange those and put those together. Then we go in and we get the band together and we start playing them out, and so it goes a lot quicker that way. So we're planning to have an album out sometime next year, early next year."
In his radio interview, Arvizu added that he will be releasing a new solo project on DVD this fall in conjunction with the launch of his clothing line, Immanuel 123. He also has plans to publish a book called Got The Life. The bassist did not give any further details on either release.
Korn will release an expanded edition of its seventh studio album, See You on the Other Side, on September 26th. The new version will include a "Chopped And Screwed" remix EP, cuts from the band's acoustic AOL Music session, live tracks, a bonus DVD and alternate artwork.
The Family Values Tour, which also features Deftones, Stone Sour and others, stops on Friday, September 15th, in Camden, New Jersey.
