Marilyn Manson opening art gallery

Marilyn Manson will open his new Los Angeles art gallery on, naturally, Halloween (October 31st). According to RollingStone.com, the gallery is located at the "nearly satanic" address of 667 Melrose, of which Manson said, "I looked at the lease and said, 'you have got to be kidding me.'" Following that, Manson will leave for Paris to begin shooting his directorial debut, Phantasmagoria: The Visions of Lewis Carroll, in which he also stars as Alice In Wonderland author Lewis Carroll.

Manson also has a few soundtrack appearances lined up. He's recorded a new song called "This Is Halloween" for the upcoming special edition DVD of The Nightmare Before Christmas, and will join Seether, Lacuna Coil, Hatebreed and other acts on Masters of Horror II, the soundtrack to the second season of Showtime's horror anthology series. The collection is due out on October 24th.

Manson is also working on his own new album and has about half the songs completed, including one called "Rebels Without Applause." He said that the tune offers his less than favorable opinion of young bands these days, explaining, "I'm not the bitter guy that's jealous of these other bands that are coming up and stealing my thunder. I invented thunder and rain. I am THE black. And I'm here to vacuum the red carpet."

Finally, the shock-rocker is also releasing his own line of absinthe and hopes to have it in stores by Christmas.
