Neil Young readying vintage concert release
Neil Young has gone into the vault for his next release, which is titled Live At The Fillmore East 1970. It's a concert recording with his band Crazy Horse that's from their two-night stand at the Fillmore East in New York City in March 1970. According to billboard.com, the album will be released on CD and in a CD/DVD package that has a high-end audio mix, handwritten lyrics, and photos, among other things. Live At The Fillmore East 1970 will be out November 14th.
In other news, Young was named Artist Of The Year by the Americana Music Association at the organization's fifth annual Americana Honors and Awards in Nashville on Friday (September 22nd). The group pays tribute to music derived from the bluegrass, country, and folk traditions, and other winners included the Drive-By Truckers, guitarist Kenny Vaughan, singer-songwriter James McMurtry, Rodney Crowell, Alejandro Escovedo, and Charlie Daniels.
