Oasis unsure of future plans says guitarist
Oasis has no plans for the future after releasing a greatest hits in November, reports Billboard. Guitarist Noel Gallagher said, "There's no plans to do anything. Saying that, there's no plans not to do anything, either. We're not like other bands in that respect. We're masters of our own destiny and take these things one album at a time." The group will have to look for a new home if and when it does decide to record again, having now completed its contract with Sony Music. The greatest hits collection, called Stop The Clocks, comes out on November 21st. The first U.S. single is "Acquiesce," originally released as a B-side.
Gallagher also told Billboard that an Oasis boxed set as well as other unreleased material is likely to surface at some point in the future.
The band also has 11 songs left over from the sessions for its last album, 2005's Don't Believe The Truth, leading Gallagher to say that "we could put an album out tomorrow if we wanted."
Oasis will not sign a new deal with Sony and Gallagher admitted that he's unsure whether the group will seek a new label or try to go it alone.
